I remember getting ready for my family’s photoshoot and I had such trouble choosing outfits. Funny I can style my clients so easily but when it comes to my family I get stuck. Luckily my photographer helped me. Anyway, when you have an awesome family photographer choosing outfits isn’t that stressful. Lifestyle newborn photography focuses on connection, comfort and natural moments and what you wear should support that feeling, not distract from it.

Here is a simple guide to help families feel confident and prepared for their session.

Keep it Simple and Neutral.

The best outfits for lifestyle newborn photos are soft, neutral and timeless. Neutral tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby and your family’s connection.

• Cream, ivory, beige
• Soft grey and white
• Warm browns

• Soft blush tones

What About Siblings?

Siblings should coordinate. NOT MATCH. Matching outfits from head to toe can feel outdated and often distract from natural connection in photos. Lifestyle newborn photography looks best when siblings coordinate in complementary colors rather than wearing identical outfits. This creates a more timeless, natural look and allows each child’s personality shine.
